By Omolagba Oluwayemi Scotland rescued a 1-1 draw against Israel as Ryan Fraser netted in the second half of Sunday’s World Cup qualifier in Tel Aviv, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Steve Clarke’s side fell behind when Scotland keeper David Marshall palmed Dor Peretz’s long-range strike into the net just before half-time. However, Newcastle winger Fraser silenced around 5,000 fans at the Bloomfield Stadium with a fine finish in the second half. Ousmane Dembele scored the opening goal as holders France beat Kazakhstan 2-0 away on Sunday to claim the first victory in their campaign to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Sergei Maliy put through his own net for France's second goal before half-time but Kylian Mbappe had a second-half penalty saved after coming off the bench. It was a welcome result for the reigning world champions after they kicked off their campaign in qualifying Group D by drawing 1-1 at home to Ukraine last Wednesday. Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabry provided the only goal of the match in Germany’s 1-0 victory over Romania, but was not concerned about how his squad captured points from Romania, only that they got the full three.
