Former Dream team midfielder, Usman Mohammed shone like a thousand stars as his Norwegian club, Sarpsborg FC thrashed visiting club, IBV Vestmannaeyjar two nil in a second leg match of the Europa cup qualifiers played on Thursday.
Usman laid the assist to Mikkel Agger for the first goal of the match in the 13th minutes. Agger then put the game beyond their visitors with a second goal scored in the 82 minutes.
Sarpsborg fc will now have to face Swiss side, FC Saint Gallen next week to see if they would be able to make it to the lucrative group stage of the Europa cup competition.
Nigerian Usman who was one of the goal scorers in the Super Eagles Athletico Madrid international friendly match played in Uyo earlier this year is really sending strong messages to the Super Eagles handlers with his good run of form and may stand to lay claim to the midfield position when the team reconvene for the next round of the Nations cup qualifiers.
The former FC Taraba player who was part of Sunday Oliseh’s Super Eagles team is said to be attracting attention from several top European clubs and several of them are said to be keeping an eye on him, and may not hesitate to snatched him away from his Norwegian club should his profile continue to rise.
