EUROPA LEAGUE: Osimhen caged as Barcelona and Napoli settle for spoil draw

Victor Osimhen was in action for 80 minutes on Thursday evening at the Camp Nou in Napoli's eventful 1-1 draw against Barcelona in the Europa League, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Piotr Zieliński opened the scoring for Napoli before Ferran Torres, who missed a number of chances leveling the scores from the spot in the second half.

The Catalans were confident in early exchanges, looking to press up high when they got the chance to. It was clearly noticeable how quick Napoli were to surround Traore whenever he got the ball in a bid to stop him from making runs.

There was slight worry for both Napoli as well as Nigeria when Osimhen had to be attended to by the medics in the first half albeit he was able to continue playing and even had a shot saved by Ter Stegen only Meret to beat in the 28th minute.

However, Barca's level dipped initially after the break, but they were quite literally handed a lifeline just before the hour as Adama Traore's cross clipped Juan Jesus' hand, and Torres converted the spot-kick after the VAR's intervention.

Barca piled the pressure on towards the end, but Torres blazed over from 12 yards and Luuk de Jong saw an overhead kick go agonisingly wide.

Luciano Spalletti’s men were second best throughout the second half, and they were made to pay for it as Ferran Torres’ penalty in the 59th minute ensured there is all to play for going into the second leg in Italy next week.
