Europa League: Osimhen Sent Off As Napoli Back To Winning Ways By Sampson Adedeji It was a day to forget for Nigeria's Super Eagles and SS Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as he received his first marching order in the UEFA Europa League, BSNSports.com.ng reports. After suffering a 1-0 defeat to Dutch Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar in the match day one of the Europa league, Napoli were looking for ways to revive its dwindling fortune in the competition. The Partenopei traveled to Spain to face inform Real Sociedad and they were able to secure maximum point with a 1-0 win. The victory came at a high cost as Osimhen who started the day on the bench got sent off toward the tail end of the game. The former Sporting Charleroi attacker was introduced in the 60th minute and had the ball in the net on 86 minutes, but it was disallowed following Mario Rui slipped on the free kick and touched it with both feet, effectively neutralising the set play. Osimhen’s night got even worse when he was shown a second yellow card for jumping with elbow raised on Le Normand. Both bookings were for naïve challenges he could’ve avoided, but it means he’ll be suspended for the next Europa League match.
