Europa League Round Up: Iwobi Stars In Arsenal Home Win As Odey, Moses Features In Zurich, Fenerbache Defeat

Nigerian players in action for their respective clubs in the Europe League round of 32 second leg games on Thursday.

Alex Iwobi put up an impressive performance as Arsenal booked a spot in the round of 16 of the Europa League following a 3-0 home win against BATE Borisov at the Emirates Stadium.

Alex Iwobi played 90 minutes and put in a strong showing for the Gunners.

Enterprising forward Stephen Odey played for FC Zurich, were pipped 2-0 by Napoli who go their goals through Simone Verdi and Adam Ounas as the Italian side cruise 5-1 victory on aggregate.

Odey was replaced by Lavdim Zumberi.

Kayode Olanrewaju start from bench at 80th minutes in Shakhtar Donestk’s 4-1 loss against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Commerzbank-Arena.

Victor Moses played for 90 minutes as Fenerbahce were booted out of the competition following a 3-1 loss to Russia’ s Zenit St Petersburg.

Ozdoev and Azmoun scored to put the hosts 2-0 up but Topal halved the deficit just before half-time before Azmoun's double the lead to cruise the Russian club side to next round.

Super Eagles prodigy Samuel Chukwueze was not listed for action in the encounter played at Estadio de la Cerámica, as Villarreal were held to a spoil 1-1 draw by Sporting CP.
