Everton vs Manchester City - Preview and possible line-ups.

We look ahead to this week's Premier League clash between Everton and Manchester City. A tight turn-around for City as they look to overtake Liverpool in the league top-spot.

TEAM NEWS
Everton
Leighton Baines was taken off injured against Wolves so will therefore miss the clash with Man City, however this coincides with Lucas Digne's return from a one-match ban.

As well as uncertainty over his future, Idrissa Gueye has missed the last few matches through injury so it remains to be seen whether Silva will call upon him to make an impact for the Toffees.

In defence, Yerry Mina is still carrying an injury and Phhil Jagielka remains on the sidelines, so it is likely that Michael Keane will join Kurt Zouma in the heart of the defensive line.

Manchester City
It is a quick turnaround for Guardiola's side since their win against Arsenal, so the manager is expected to make a number of changes. Leroy Sane was on the sideline for the match against the Gunners, and Riyad Mahrez only had a few minutes of game time so both are expected to start for City.

Guardiola chose Fernandinho and Nicolas Otamendi over John Stones at the weekend, who was included among the subs so it's possible that Guardiola will bring him back into the starting lineup.

Man City missed Benjamin Mendy in left-back who has missed three matches since making his latest return. While Guardiola will be keen to get him back into the troublesome position, he may call upon Fabian Delph or Oleksandr Zinchenko to plug the gap for Wednesday's match.

A big match for City though, as a win will see them overtake Liverpool and sit top of the Premier League table.

Goals from Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling saw Man City beat Everton in the reverse fixture earlier in the season.

Everton have won two of their last three meetings across all competitions.

Guardiola suffered his heaviest ever league defeat to Everton as the Toffees won 4-0 in January 2017. However, City won this fixture 3-1 last season en route to winning the league with an impressive 100 points.
