Ex-Eagles Star Sam Okwaraji's Mum Dies At 83

The mother of former Green Eagles player Samuel Okwaraji, who died on the pitch of play while representing Nigeria is dead.

Lady Janet Okwaraji died at the age of 83 after a protracted illness in Enugu state, Nigeria.

Her death was announced by the eldest son, Patrick Okwaraji who confirmed the development to journalists today June 8, 2020.

The burial arrangements for Lady Janet Okwaraji will be announced in due time by the family.

Late Sam Okwaraji

The late Green Eagles player Samuel Okwaraji died on the field of play in National Stadium Surulere Lagos state on August 12, 1989 (30 years ago) during a football match between Nigeria and Angola, it was believed that Samuel Okwaraji died of heart failure during the match at the young age of 25.

The late Samuel Okwaraji who is also a trained lawyer was immortalised at the entrance of the National Stadium Surulere, Lagos

It is yet unknown if the mother of the late will also be immortalised by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
