Ex-NFF boss Kojo Williams dismisses NFF elections, insists FIFA won’t order shut down of Nigerian laws

By Admin Ex-NFF president Kojo Williams has questioned the insistence by the executive committee led by Amaju Pinnick to go ahead with elections in Katsina despite a court order stopping it and even after several issues concerning the leadership of the country’s football had yet to be resolved. Officials representing Chris Giwa said a court order was served the elective congress in Katsina on Thursday, but the NFF still went ahead with the polls. Williams insisted that should not have happened. “If there are court orders, you don’t defy court orders. Even the Vice-President won’t defy court orders,” he told Hot FM Abuja. “You can’t tell me that FIFA will tell us to shut down the laws of our land. “When they pick and lock them up will they say it was the Vice-President who told them to go ahead? “We don’t do things like that. We have to respect the laws of the land because Nigeria is a sovereign nation.” He continued: “They should have waited and made sure that these things were sorted out before going ahead to carry out elections. “We have to respect the laws of the country, even the President of the country respects this. So, what are you talking about? “I don’t take sides, I look at things objectively. They should have waited until things have been resolved. “You keep breaking the law and you keep going back to the same law. It’s not acceptable!”
