  Ex- Super Eagles Defender Escapes Death After Auto Accident In Belgium By Niyi Busari Former Super Eagles defender, Furo Iyenemi escaped death after having an auto accident in his base in Belgium, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Iyenemi who posted the information on his Facebook wall two days after the ugly experience gave thanks to God for saving his life. Furo Iyenemi after the accident "I had an accident two days ago being 19/1/2021 and I thank God am getting better." The former PSG player stated. Born in 1978, Iyenemi started his football career at sharks FC, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, before playing for PSG in France, Waregem in Belgium, FC Sion Switzerland among others. At the international level, he played for Nigeria at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney . He was the captain of the team as they reached the last eight of the tournament. Iyenemi was also part of the Super Eagles at the 2000 African Cup of Nations finals, making five appearances as Nigeria finished runners-up behind Cameroon who won on penalties.
