Exclusive: Falconets To Tackle Central African Republic In FIFA U20 Women's World Cup Qualifiers By Niyi Busari The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the dates for the FIFA U20 Women's World Cup qualifiers, BSNSports.com.ng can authoritatively report. In the fixtures released by the African football governing body, Nigeria's U20 Women's National team, the Falconets will trade tackles with Central African Republic (CAR). The first leg is scheduled to hold at Central African Republic's home between 23, 24, and 25 of September while the return leg holds two weeks later between 7, 8, and 9 of October in Nigeria. Last year, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) appointed Coach Moses Adukwu as the head coach and Bilikisu Tijani as assistant in preparation ahead of the world cup qualifiers against Burkina Faso. The African Women's U20 World Cup qualifiers were cancelled due to Coronavirus pandemic following cancellation of the World Cup finals by FIFA. In the first two editions of FIFA U20 World Cup in 2002 and 2004 only one team in Africa qualified for the World Cup, thus a final was played. From 2006 onwards the confederation was granted a second spot, so all following tournaments were played in a knock-out format only to the semi finals. All matches are played on a home and away system, there is no host country for the single years. Falconets have qualified for every edition of the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup since 2002 and have been runners-up twice, losing to Germany on both occasions in 2010 and 2014.
