FA Cup: Balogun stars as Brighton shocks Bournemouth

Nigeria's Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun was the star man on Saturday in the third round of English FA Cup at the Vitality stadium as Brighton Gives Albion defeated host Bournemouth 1-3.

It was Anthony Knockaert that drew the first blood for Brighton in the 31st minutes before Yves Bissouma doubled the scores three minutes later and ended the first stanza 2-0 in favour of the away side.

Second stanza resumed with Cherries trying to control the game and it paid off in the 55th minutes as Marc Pugh half the scores.

Home side continued to pressurized the defence of Brighton but Balogun stood his ground to nullify all their threat.

Florin Andone sealed the game in the 64th minutes with fantastic finished and give Brighton a passage to the 4th round of the competition.
