FA Cup: Mikel debuts in Boro draw.

Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi started Middlesborough FA Cup clash with Newport County home draw at the Riverside stadium, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Barely 48 hours after joining Middleborough, Nigeria's Super Eagles skipper John Mikel Obi has made his debut for the club.

Mikel left the Chinese Super League side Tianjin Teda and returned back to England on Thursday, after making 31 appearances for the Chinese side.

The coach of Middleborough Tony Pulis started former Chelsea star in the FA Cup clash against Newport County in a game that ended in a 1-1 draw.

The skillful midfielder was in action for 62 minutes before he was replaced by Adam Clayton.

Mikel, became the fourth Nigeria players to dorn the colour of Middleborough after Yakubu Ayegbeni, Bartlomew Ogbeche and Kenneth Omeruo.
