Fabregas Bids Farewell To Chelsea, Sets To Join AS Monaco

Barring any exceptional U-turn, Cesc Fabregas played his last match for Chelsea in 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday.


The Spanish international was given the captain armband in his final game at Stamford Bridge in a game he had a chance to score from 12 yards but his penalty was saved by goalkeeper Jason Steele.

The midfielder was given a rousing standing ovation when we he was substituted, an ovation he appreciated tearfully.


The former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder who is reportedly on the verge of joining French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco on a 3-year deal made 198 appearances for the Blues, scoring 22 goals and making 48 assists.

Fabregas won 2 premier league titles, 1 FA Cup and 1 League Cup titles with the Blues.
