Fabregas's Monaco deal on hold

Despites agreeing personal terms with French Lique one side, Chelsea has put on hold the move midfielder Cesc Fabregas, to AS Monaco.

The Spanish midfielder flown to France on Monday and agreed a 3 year deal with the Principality side.

Chelsea Director Marina Granovskaia on Tuesday said the club will only sanction the deal if they find suitable replacement.

The club is currently in talks with Cagliari midfielder Niccolo Barela and Zenith St Petersburg player Leandero Paredes with the hope of finalising the deal before the end of the week.

Fabregas on Saturday in the FA Cup third round against Nottingham Forest waved emotional goodbye to Chelsea fans in readiness for the move.
