Falconets To Resume Camping On Sunday Ahead World Cup Qualifiers By Our Reporter Nigeria’s U-20 women’s football team, the Falconets will begin their preparations on Sunday, August 15 in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja ahead of the upcoming 2022 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup African qualifiers. The Nigeria U20 team have already been drawn bye in the first round. Prompt News can confirm that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has opened camp at an Abuja hotel for the team to kick start preparations for the African challenge in order to pick one of the tickets for the global event slated for Costa Rica from Wednesday, August 10 to Sunday, August 28, 2022. Although the list of the invited players by Falconets Head Coach, Christopher Musa Danjuma, are yet to be made available to journalists by NFF, however, there are indications that most of the invited players are from the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL). Meanwhile, it has been discovered that some players may be invited from the lower league and championship clubs across the country as the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic has disrupted football activities just like others such as economic activities globally in the past two years. This is even as the supply chain of the national women’s football teams, the U-17 (Flamingos) have not come to camp or played any competition in two years hence there are no players to graduate to U-20 women’s football team at the moment. It means that Coach Danjuma and his assistants will have a huge task to select a new generation of U-20 players who will be ready for the African qualifiers of the 2022 FIFA Women’s World Cup final in Costa Rica.
