Falode appeals for calm as NWPL abridged league ends By Admin The Chairperson of the Nigeria Women Football League, Aisha Falode, has called on all women's football stakeholders, players, club officials and supporters alike, to ensure the Nigeria Women Premier League abridged league ends successfully without any form of eventualities whatsoever when the last games of the season are played across the designated venues in the country on Sunday, November 4, 2018. Falode, who commended all the NWPL clubs for the peaceful conduct of all the matches played so far in the league, just like the proverbial Oliver Twist, appealed to the clubs to make sure the league season records one hundred percent peaceful conduct by taking full control of their players, officials and supporters by preventing them from taking law into their hands while games are on. She noted that: "The reactions of the players and officials during matches in most cases indicate what the supporters and fans will do, positively or negatively, during and after the game. "We want to finish the season on a high note as usual. If there is anything a team disagrees with during the game, there a proper channel to follow through the Secretariat of the NWFL." Falode, whose board just perfected a partnership with the Laliga Women's League Department towards a further development of the NWFL, stated that, her call for peaceful conduct of the last matches of the NWPL which come up simulteanously across the country on Sunday, October 4, 2018, was necessary because of the situation on the NWPL table, which is in a photo finish both at the top and bottom. She noted that the toughest games for tickets to play in the Super Four would be in the matches in Akure between Sunshine Queens and Adamawa Queens, in Lafia when Nasarawa Amazons take on Abia Angels, in Yenagoa, when Bayelsa Queens battle Delta Queens and in Owerri, when Rivers Angels square up against home team, Heartland Queens. "These ones are battling for places in the Super Four, some others in the remaining fixtures are either battling against relegation, while others want to retain their places in the premier league. It's going to be a very dramatic Sunday," Falode said.
