MATCH REPORT: FC IFEANYIUBAH EXTENDS UNBEATEN RUN WITH A WIN AGAINST GO ROUND FC FC IFEANYIUBAH 2 (AWAZIE-12', SEKA- 62') GO ROUND FC. 1 (NWACHUKWU- 4') By Iyke Nwokedi The Anambra Warriors kicked off the second stanza of the current Nigerian Professional Football League Season with a 2-1 win against the visiting Go Round FC of Omoku who they had earlier played on Match Day 19. Ladan Bosso led technical crew made three changes to the side as Goalkeeper Bamba Drissa took the place of Tambe Charles with Adeleye Olamilekan making his first start of the season leapfrogging Sodiq Suraq as John Huan got the nod ahead of Chidume Onyekachi. The Visitors started the first half with an intent to kill and they definitely got the curtain raiser courtesy of a beautiful belter by Chidi Nwachukwu in the fourth minute of the game; a goal that was applauded by the fortress faithful. The Anambra Warriors would sprung into life after that goal and should have gotten a couple of goals as Ekene Awazie and John Huan were both denied by the Goalkeeper Victor Obiowo who was in superlative form. In the 12th minute, Awazie Ekene got the equalizer as Huan Combined with Alaekwe and and then fed Awazie through on goal to finally get the leveller beating Goalkeeper Obiowo to send the fortress into a Frenzy. The second half started as the first half ended with both teams pressing to get a second goal and Adeleye almost put the Anambra Warriors ahead twice in the early stages of the second half as he was first denied by Goalkeeper Obiowo from a freekick situation and then his headed effort from a John Huan set piece was just narrowly off target. But then two minutes past the hour mark Seka Pascal was the man to net what turned out to be the winner as a cross was first floated in by Maamo Joseph to the hitman Godwin Obaje who brilliantly flicked the ball to the Mercurial Ivorian to dispatch the ball beyond the reach of the showstopper Obiowo for the second goal of the game for the Anambra Warriors in a tense and entertaining encounter. There were moments of near misses as the likes of Alaekwe Chijioke and Worlu Stanley had their efforts saved by the two opposing goalkeepers who capped the match with brilliant saves to keep the scores at 2-1 with FC IfeanyiUbah taking all available points.
