FCT FA Commends NFF For Donating Food Items To Clubs, Widows

Federal Capital Territory Football Association, (FCT FA) has commended the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, for donating food items as palliative to fourteen FCT FA affiliated clubs to cushion the effect of the economic hardship brought upon us by covid-19, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
Chairman of the state FA, Alhaji Mouktar Mohammed commended the federation for the selfless act to share food items to football family at this trying time when the economy all over the world is suffering.
Haruna Usman Ilerika, Secretary to the FA while receiving donations of food items from the NFF at the Sunday Dankaro House, MKO Abiola Stadium, Abuja expressed gratitude to the federation, stressing that its donation would go a long way in helping the recipients to support them and their households in the state.
According to him, this period is indeed a trying time for the federation, governments and families.
Wakili John, the proprietor, Wako Football Academy whose club is among the 14 recipients stated that the food items they received was very special to them, as it is not about the quantum or quantity of items that were brought, but the thought to join in the fight against the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic.
Ilerika while commending NFF said “No one knew that the COVID-19 pandemic would hit the world, therefore no plan was made for it, but thanked God and good-spirited NFF, for their kind gesture.
"The world economy has been crippled with the closure of borders and businesses with over four billion people sitting at home, as a result of covid-19 pandemic,” he said.
He appealed to all football family to adhere strictly to government directives to contain the spread of coronavirus, saying that although the lockdown came with pains, it is for the good of all.
NFF Secretary General who coordinated the distribution of food items to the beneficiaries appointed the FCT FA Secretary, Ilerika to lead the delegation that distribute food items extended to widows at the Garki village, Abuja.
