The election date was approved by the Nigeria Football Federation having met the requirement for conduct of election. This is contained in a letter marked NFF/GEN/385/1/20 written on 17th May, 2019 and signed by Onoja Joshua, Esq on behalf of the Secretary General of Nigeria Football Federation, Dr. Sanusi Mohammed. The letter titled: "Acknowledgement of the documents and approval of same for conduct of election into FCT Football Association Executive Committee, 2019," reads in parts; "I am directed to refer to the above subject matter and your correspondence dates 14th May, 2019. It is my instruction to inform you that arising from the request of the Nigeria Football Federation regarding information in respect of election into FCT Football Association, we are in receipt of the following: "Guidelines for the FCT Football Association Executive Committee Election 2019. List of Electoral and Election Appeal Committee members. Decision of the FCT FA Extra Ordinary Congress of 22nd February, 2019." "Consequently, having met the requirement for conduct of election into FCT Football Association, the Nigeria Football Association do hereby approve the exercise to be conducted on 20the June 2019."
