FCT FA Inaugurates 14 Committees

Chairman of the FCT Football Association (FA), Adam Mukhtar, on Friday in Abuja inaugurated fourteen (14 committees.

Adam while addressing journalists in Abuja said that he inaugurated the committees to help come with robust ideas to develop football in FCT at the grassroots.
He added that he will run an inclusive and transparent regime

Mukhtar, who spoke at the inauguration of various FCT FA standing committees, said: “Unlike the previous board under which I served, we have made the FCT FA an inclusive association where all stakeholders are carried along.

“We are committed and open to fresh ideas and we have also made the association transparent because it is the only way you can attract investment.”

A total of 14 committees were inaugurated at the event and their members were sworn in by the chairman.

The committees include: Technical and Development (chaired by Abimbola Samuel), Strategic Studies (chaired by Godwin Bamigboye), Protocol and Ceremonies (with Pascal Duru as chairman) and Players’ Status (Patrick Bassey as chairman).

Others are: Referees Committee (chaired by Hashimu Adamu), Youth Development Committee (chaired by Wakili John), Area Councils Football Development Committee, and Ethics and Fair Play Committee (both chaired by Salihu Kolo).

The rest are Security Committee (headed by Daniel Kwoi), Marketing and Sponsorship Committee headed by Noel Anosike, while Women’s Football Committee is chaired by Ngozi Ezeh.

The Organising Committee for FCT FA Competitions is chaired by Musa Garba, while Andrew Abha was sworn in as chairman of Media and Public Relations Committee.

Mike Ndidi and Niyi Busayi are the Media and Public Relations committee’s vice chairman and secretary respectively.

Muktar charged the committees to be steadfast in carrying out their assignments.

“Your tasks are definitely going to be challenging, but I am convinced that you can do the job because you have the passion and competence,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the committees, Victoria Nlemigbo, who is also the vice chairman of Strategic Studies Committee, promised to live up to expectations.

“Our responsibilities have been spelt out and we accept the tasks at hand with humility.

“We are willing and ready to put in our best so that through our support and effort the FCT FA will become the envy of other football associations,” she said.
