FCT FA Seminar For Football Stakeholders, Good For Nigeria Football Development - Salihu Abubakar By Niyi Busari Salihu Abubakar, Chief Operating Officer of League Management Company and has described the FCT FA one-day seminar for football stakeholders as the right step in a right direction adding that it will help to improve the performances of coaches, referees and club administrators who attended the seminar. Salihu who was one of the resource professionals invited to deliver papers on the 'the role of sport administrators in a club, organisation, and society in contemporary world' described Sports administrator as someone who must know something about everything. According to him, sports administrator must acquire a certificate where he must have been thoroughly trained on marketing plan, ethics of the profession, economics of sports, event management, financial management in sports, budgeting, financing, social media relation, among others. In his speech, one of the reasons Nigeria sports is not growing as expected is that most of sports administrators are not trained, hence doesn't possess the necessary requirement and skills to manage sports and it suffers for it. He encourages sports administrators to run their clubs professionally. He said FCT FA has been one of the best FA in Nigeria particularly in the area of grassroots football development. The seminar which was held at Old Parade Ground Area 10 Abuja on Wednesday, started from 10:am to 16:00 pm.
