FCT FA Suspends All Football Activities

The Federal Capital Territory Football Association (FCT FA) in conformity with the directive from Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development and the Nigeria Football Federation has suspended all football activities in the FCT with immediate effect.

Chairman, FCT FA, Mohammed Muktar approved the suspension of all football activities as a precautionary move against COVID-19 spread.

The Chairman's decision followed the close monitoring and updates on COVID-19 in Nigeria which rose to eight cases and the spread across the world.

He advised all chairmen of the six Area Football Councils and stakeholders to adhere strictly to the suspension as a safety and precautionary measure till further information from the Ministry of Health and Nigeria Center for Disease Control.

Even though the COVID-19 pandemic is not presently affecting Nigeria on the scale it is ravaging other countries of the world, the Association is however in agreement with these aforementioned critical stakeholders that the wellbeing of our athletes and sports loving Nigerians is of paramount importance.

They should be alive and in safe health to keep training and participating in future tournaments.

Muktar Mohammed also noted that anyone who refuse to comply with the directives will face the consequence from the board.
