FCT SWAN Disassociate Self From Sirawoo-led SWANI By Muibat Aniyikaye Following the incorporation of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) by its national leadership, FCT Chapter of the body has resolved to disassociate self from the incoporated body otherwise known as SWANI. This is contained in a communique issued at the end of November 8, 2018 Congress where members in the Congress unilaterally pronounced that they remain an affiliate of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and not part of the SWAN registered by its (SWANI) President, Honour Sirawoo. "FCT SWAN following the incorporation of SWAN by its national leadership, Congress resolves to remain an affiliate of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and not part of SWAN registered elsewhere." The communique' read in parts. The FCT Chapter also frowned at the FCT Minister's unwillingness to approve the funds for the 19th National Sports Festival with barely one month to the commencement of the tournament. However,the Congress urged the FCT administration to do more in developing sports especially with people with disability, as sports is a major incentive bring ability in disability. "It is regrettable that FCT minister is yet to approve funds for the 19th NSF with barely one month to the commencement of the event.
