FCT SWAN Elections: We Are One Family, Says Bunmi Haruna By Our Reporter Bunmi Haruna, newly elected chairman of the FCT Sports Writers' Association (SWAN), says the chapter is one family. Haruna, while speaking after the swearing in ceremony at the NUJ FCT chapter in Utako on Friday, told members the need for them to unite. He further stressed on the importance of taking the association to a greater height with welfare of members paramount in achieving this. "We are one united family. Election will always come with its up and downs," Haruna said. "But now that the election has been conducted successfully well, we will all come to the round table to work towards steering the association to a greater height. "We want to thank the NUJ, FCT chapter chairman, Emmanuel Ogbeche for opening its center to us to hold the election. We pledge our allegiance to the body. "Our tenure will be a welfare target oriented and people friendly. "We want to enjoin all sports stakeholders that FCT SWAN is here to work with them. The sports ministry, the NFF, NBBF, Wrestling federation, AFN, NOC, FCT Sports council, Nigeria Referee Association, NTTF, etc." Mr. Haruna of Cool FM defeated Chidoka Ndubueze of Radio Nigeria by 50 votes to 7. The FCT SWAN election was supervised by Osaretin Patrick Osadebamwen, vice chairman of NUJ, Abuja chapter.
