FCT U-13 FOSLA Academy Tournament: AMAC are Champions By Admin Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) on Thursday emerged as the Champions of the 2018 Fosla Academy U. 13 Football Competition. AMAC defeated Abaji Area Council by two goals to one. To qualify for the final, AMAC defeated defending champions Bwari by a lone goal, while Abaji outwit Gwagwalada Area Council by four goals to two on penalties after a goalless full time. Kuje Area Council also outscored Karshi by four goals to three on penalties. The match also ended goalless. Speaking at the occasion, the Proprietor of the Academy, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi expressed satisfaction quality of skills displayed by the teams, saying that the program which is fully aimed for players at the grassroots, is gradually gaining international recognition. He commended the youths for putting pressure on their parents to allow them participate in the tournament. Lulu said "what we are doing in here in FCT is a very simple thing, but very difficult because nobody would to spend his hard earned resources without getting reward for it. We in this Academy, we believe our reward is nurturing the players to stardom". He challenged the players to work hard to lift the image of the country among the countries of the world. "if you are among those coming to the school, you must be prepared to work hard both in education and Football, and among all, you must be disciplined" he concluded. The 25 players that were selected will be joined by those selected from Kogi State earlier in the year, to participate in the school's common entrance examination holding on Saturday 21 April in the school. Ten players will enjoy the school scholarship.
