Blessed Queens are champions of 2018 FCT FA Cup after 4-1 bashing of Beautiful Tours in the final on Sunday at the Area 3 playing ground.
Beautiful Tours drew the first blood in the 13th minute before Joy Nkoroh and Ndidi Okeke put Blessed Queen ahead to bring the first half scoreline to 2-1.
Most valuable player of the tournament Joy Igbazemda scored a brilliant goal from a solo effort taking the ball from the centre half of the field to beat four players before slotting the ball beyond the reach of the opposing goalkeeper. Ndidi Okeke scored the second goal in the 79th minute to bring the match to 4-1.
Speaking www.bsn.com.ng after the final match, the coach of Blessed Queens Ngozi Eze said: "I am happy for my team winning the trophy and will be ready to represent FCT in the national women AITEO Cup coming up soon.
She appealed to the FCT minister and the FCT sports Department to support her team financially on the task ahead.
"I want use this opportunity to urge the FCT minister and FCT sports department to come to our aid. We will need money for camping, hotel and feeding during the women national Aiteo cup assignment that begins soon."
She promised to make Abuja football fans proud as she believed her team will not disappoint them.
"We will do well at the national group stage of national women Aiteo cup, we have experience players in our team with this and support from expected quarters, we will not disappoint our fans in and outside Abuja."
She thanks Barrister Victoria Nlemigbo as well as the Director of FCT Sports department, Chief Mrs. Dilichukwu Onyendinma for their support.
