Panic As FG Set To Arraign Amaju Pinnick, 4 Other NFF Officials At Federal High Court By Akinolu Olunloyo www.bsnsports.com.ng can report that the Federal Government of Nigeria has officially announced that the President, Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Melvin Pinnick and four other chieftains of the federation will be arraigned on 28th May, 2019 before Honourable Justice Ifeoma Ojukwu at the Federal High Court, Abuja over alleged stealing of N4 billion and $8.4m respectively meant for football development. The Special Presidential Investigative Panel for Recovery of Public Property (SPIP) who investigated Amaju Pinnick, NFF Secretary-General, Dr Mohammed Sanusi, Vice-President, Seyi Akinwunmi, 2nd Vice-President, Shehu Dikko and NFF Board member, Ahmed Yusuf Fresh confirmed this on Sunday that the case will resume hearing on 28th May, 2019 adding that the defendants will be arraigned in court. "Federal High Court Abuja in suit No FHC/ABJ/CS/17/2019 presided over by Honorable Justice Ijeoma L Ojukwu . The Plaintiffs are Amaju Pinnick: Seyi Akinwunmi; Mallam Shehu Dikko; Alhaji Yusuf Ahmad Fresh and Dr Muhammad Sanusi . The defendants are SPIP; Chief Okoi Obono- Obal and Attorney General of the Federation." An official statement from SPIP stated. "It is official that the nff officials who have been investigated by Special Presidential Investigation Panel for Recovery of Public Property for stealing of N4 billion and $8.4m respectively would be arraigned before The Honorable Justice Ifeoma Ojukwu of the The Federal High Court, Abuja on the 28 May 2019." The statement added. Special Presidential Investigative Panel claimed that the five top NFF officials after several invitation by the Panel have refused to show up. Not too happy with the development, SPIP went ahead to acquire warrant of arrest from a Magistrate Court in Abuja but despite that, the NFF top officials ignored and failed to appear before the panel to clear their names. On their part, the NFF also filed an action in the Federal High Court against the Panel claiming that the Panel can’t and lack the power to investigate them because they are not public officers. But the Federal High Court last week thrown away the case saying it has not stand before the court. As it stand, the defendant, Amaju Pinnick, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi, Dr. Sanusi Mohammed, Shehu Dikko and Ahmed Yusuf Fresh would be arraigned on 28th May 2019 before Honourable Justice Ifeoma Ojukwu of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
