Felix Nmecha Described UEFA Champions League Debut ‘Amazing Feeling’

Manchester City of England youngster, Felix Nmecha has described as an ‘amazing feeling’ his historic debut in the UEFA Champions League for his English Premier League club, BSNSports.com.ng reports. Although he went on for only the last five minutes of Tuesday’s UCL game, the Nigerian-born lad admitted he was thrilled to feature in the game and add an assist, as The Citizens moved within just a point of reaching the knockout stage, following a 3-0 spanking of Olympiakos of Greece at Etihad Stadium. Nmecha’s side sank their Greek opponents with goals from Ferran Torres, Gabriel Jesus and Joao Cancelo, with City’s coach, Pep Guardiola handing a glorious debut to the attacking midfielder born in Germany as a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne. In the 90th minute, João Cancelo curled the ball into the net from 20 yards, with his sizzling effort assisted by Nmecha, who went on the 85th minute of his debut in the money-spinning European elite clubs’ competition, and the Nigerian-born youngster would go on to further attribute his effort to the trust he has in God. It was another surge for the 20-year-old Nmecha, whose first appearance for City’s first team was against Burton Albion in the semi-finals of the League Cup in January 2019, but he has regularly captained their development squad in the UEFA Youth League and Premier League 2. Nmecha took to social media to celebrate marking his UCL debut with an assist on his team’s third goal and he posted: “Amazing feeling to make my Champions league debut 🙏🏽🙌🏽❤️I thank God and give Him all the glory, also nice to get an assist. #InGodItrust.”
