Festus Keyamo, Solomon Dalung Disagree on FIFA Ban

Festus
By Niyi Busari Festus Keyamo (SAN) on Tuesday has warned Nigerians that FIFA ban on the country is imminent and that it could be disastrous as Nigeria will not participate in any international as well local competitions including the Nigerian leagues. If Nigeria is banned there will be no player transfer within and outside the country until the ban is lifted, BSN Sports reports. He stated this on Tuesday at the Federal High Court in Jos after the NFF leaderahip case was adjourned till September 25th. Festus Keyamo while addressing journalist brought out a copy of the FIFA letter from his pocket and warned that the country will be banned if the court case is not solved on time. He pleaded that the judge should have not adjourned the case for further hearing. He cited government interfering in the case as the reason why FIFA may ban Nigeria. "In adjourning this matter, the FIFA hammer is imminent, this is not about Pinnick or Giwa but the future of our country and children who earn a daily living from football and the catastrophe will be so colossal that even the local league will be affected. "So i am just sending a note of warning and caution to everyone involved that the earlier the case is resolved the better for us." Meanwhile the minister of youth and sports development Barrister Solomon Dalung has laughed off such claim while also accusing some Nigerians for instigating FIFA ban on the country. "I have been wondering when i hear people talk about FIFA ban. In the first place, i do not know why FIFA will ban Nigeria. If members of FIFA family are fighting and they went to court hence, dragged government into it. "How can FIFA leave those that are fighting and come to ban Nigeria by accusing the government of interfering? I am yet to comprehend this line of argument but i do know that there some people who are campaigning that FIFA should ban our country including those who are beneficiary of the football legacy. "FIFA can not just wake up and ban us, they will rather work out issues and ask questions like; what are the issues? What is the role of Nigerian government? And as far as i am concern government has not interfere in the Nigerian football leadership matter but were rather dragged into it by their inability to manage their domestic affairs."
