Feyenoord Wonderkid Shines As U-15 Defeat Falconets

Feyenoord super kid Lateef Omidiji Jnr was on target and tallied an assist as Nigeria U15s beat World Cup-bound Nigeria Women's U20 team 2-1 in a friendly played in Abuja on Friday, June 1. The 14-year-old would have bagged a brace but saw a goal wrongly disallowed after opening the scoring in the 20th minute. Omidiji received a standing ovation and applause from the crowd when he subbed out with seven minutes remaining in the contest. Officials at the Nigeria Football Federation that watched the friendly were high-fiving him when he was taken off. Aside from his goal and assist, another highlight of his impressive display was when he nutmegged a Falconets defender in one play and the spectators appreciated his doggedness. Omidiji is thoroughly enjoying himself in Abuja because of the great atmosphere, good coaches and great teammates.
