FIBA Pre World Cup Friendly: D'Tigers suffers defeat to Canada

It was a day to forget for Nigeria's D'Tigers as they suffered a defeat to another world cup bound team Canada 96-87 in a pre world cup friendly played in Canada in the early hours of Thursday.

The Nigeria side started the game on a bright note winning the first quarter 29-25 but the home side bounced back strongly in the remaining quarters, 2nd 50-41, 3rd quarter 72-60 and winning outrightly at the end.

Nigeria gaffer Alex Nworah named a strong side for the match, with Uzoh, Okogie, Nworah, Meth and Al Faroq Aminu starting for Nigeria.

Ike Iroegbu was adjudged Man of the match after he finished with 12 points, 5/7 FG, 1/3 points, in 13 minutes.

The second game is scheduled for the same venue on Friday.
