FIBA WWC: D’Tigress Captain Elonu Relishes Q-Finals Feat

D’Tigress captain, Adaora Elonu is excited at the quarter-finals feat her team has achieved at the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Tenerife, Spain reports www.bsnsports.com.ng.
Elonu, despite scoring no points bagged the four assist and four rebounds as D’Tigress secured their third win at the competition edging Greece 57-56 in Wednesday’s quarter-final qualifier.
It was D’Tigress’ third win of the competition after victory over Turkey and Argentina.
Elonu also admits that the Greek side were a tough team despite losing two games in Group A.
“I’m happy for us because we’ve been through a lot and our motto was to stay together and we stayed together,” Elonu told FIBA.com.
“Greece is really a tough team. I don’t know how we pulled it off but I’m beyond happy and proud.”
On the quarter-final against the USA Elonu said: “It sounds really nice. I’ve never really thought about it. I don’t know what to expect but we’re just going to keep pushing. We didn’t know what to expect from the World Cup as none of us had been here. It’s just a ride.”
