By Admin The Nigerian women basketball team, D’Tigress, has beaten Turkey in the Group B of the on-going FIB Women’s World Cup. At the end of the fourth quarter, Nigeria won 74-68, www.bsnsports.com.ng reports. The win against Turkey is the first ever recorded by an African women basketball team at the world cup. The Turkish women national team started well by taking the lead in the first quarter (15-7), extend the lead to the half time (32-29). D'Tigress came back into the game and took the lead in the third quarter when American based Nigerian international player, Sarah Ogoke inspired her team mates to record whopping 20 points (52-42). At the end of the game D'Tigress earn Nigeria the first ever win at the women world cup as the game ended (74-68) in favour of the African team.
