FIBA WWCQ: Gallant D'Tigress Book World Cup Ticket After Beating France By Oluwayemi Omolagba Nigeria D'Tigress did the unbelievable on Friday evening to beat France in the second Group B game at the ongoing FIBA Women World Cup qualifiers in Serbia, BSNSports.com.ng reports. D'Tigress after trailed France by 17 points in the 1st quarter after losing by 11-28 points but did well to win the 2nd quarter by 16-10 points. With 11 points between D'Tigress and France going into the 3rd quarter, the Nigerians again beat the French 21-14 points in the 3rd quarter. With just 4 points between D'Tigress and France going into the final quarter, the Nigerian needed to a solid performance in the final quarter and they did just that beating their French counterpart by 19-13 points leaving the final scores at 67-65 points in favour of D'Tigress. With the win, D'Tigress moved to 2nd in the group behind China while France dropped to 3rd and with 3 teams billed to progress from each group, D'Tigress are through to the World Cup in Australia no matter the what eventually happen in their final group game against Mali.
