As the election to the executive position of the confederation of Africa Football ( CAF) get closer, World soccer governing body ( FIFA) has invited President of CAF Ahmad Ahmad and first vice president Constant Omari to explain what led to the termination of broadcasting right signed with Lagardere, BSNSports.com.ng reports
After signing the contract in 2017, CAF informed Lagardère of its plans to scrap the arrangement nine years early in November, a decision the agency said it would contest on the basis that it was ‘unlawful, unreasonable and unjustified’.
Among other things, Lagardère asked that CAF be ordered to immediately reinstate the contract, which was due to run from 2017 until 2028.
Since the commencement of the legal battle, Africa Football at all levels has been off the television, a decision that the football fans across the continent has found largely unpalatable.
The report coming Zurich has it that Ahmad and Omari has been invited to come shed more light in the saga and may be solution may also be profer.
The broadcasting right has been the key area virtually all the intending candidates for the office of the presidency has laid emphasis on and are willing to rectify the problem if elected.
