FIFA Ranking: Nigeria Finishes The Year In 36th Position, 5th In Africa Sampson Adedeji World soccer governing body (FIFA) has released the latest FIFA ranking with Nigeria's Super Eagles finishing the year in the 36th position, BSNsports.com.ng can report. For the past two rankings, the Nigeria side has remained stagnant despite picking the playoff ticket of the 2022 World cup qualifiers. The latest ranking placed Nigeria in the 36th position and 5th in African ahead of the 2021 African Cup of Nations group opponent who was in 6th position on the continent. Senegal still remains Africa’s highest ranked team in 20th, Morocco are in 28th, AFCON champions Algeria is in 29th while Tunisia is 30th. Nigeria next competitive game will be at the AFCON 2021 against Pharaohs of Egypt and the performance of the team in the three weeks competition will either improve or deteriorate the team position in the next ranking Africa top 5 1.
