FIFA Ranking: Nigeria Jumps 12 Places, Ranked 33rd

The impressive outing of The Nigeria's Super Eagles at the just concluded 2019 African Cup of Nations has given the team a good lift in the latest FIFA ranking for the month of July.

The new ranking released on Thursday shows that Nigeria jumped 12 places to move up to 33rd position from its previous 45th position it occupied in the June ranking.

The Bronze winner in the 2019 African Cup of Nations garnered 1481 points to also placed 3rd in Africa.

Newly crowned Africa champions Deserts Foxes of Algeria occupied 40th position 4th in Africa while runners up Teranga Lions of Senegal were ranked 20th and 1st in Africa.

Nigeria's Super Eagles defeated Carthage Eagles of Tunisia 1-0 in the third place play off to finished in the competition.
