FIFA Threatens Egyptian Giants With Relegation World football governing body, FIFA,  has sent a massive warning to Egyptian giants, Zamalek, revealing they could go as far to enforce relegation should the club continue to ignore orders, BSNSports.com.ng reports. FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) have backed Ghanaian striker Benjamin Acheampong's case against Zamalek, who are believed to owe the player $1 million (R14 million) for unfair treatment. Acheampong was on the club's books between 2017 and 2018, during which he was reportedly not paid correctly. While CAS has ordered the Egyptian giants to pay the money owed to the 30-year-old, FIFA has now sent a strong warning to Zamalek, saying they could be handed a transfer ban or even be relegated should they continue to ignore the issue. "Zamalek Sports Club is granted a final deadline of 30 days as from notification of the present decision in which to settle said amount," FIFA's Disciplinary Department said in a statement, according to the BBC. "Upon expiry of the aforementioned final deadline and in the event of persistent default or failure to comply in full with the decision within the period stipulated, a transfer ban will be pronounced until the complete amount due is paid. "In addition, a deduction of points or relegation to a lower division may also be ordered in addition to a transfer ban in the event of persistent failure, repeated offences or serious infringements or if no full transfer could be imposed or served for any reason."
