The Nigeria's national women U-20 coach, Christopher Danjuma has said that their focus and target is on the FIFA U-20 women World Cup trophy which begins on August 5th 2018.
Reacting to questions from journalists in Abuja on Thursday after his side narrowly lost 1-0 to FOSLA Academy boys in a well contested game at the FIFA Goal Project playing ground. He said:
"Nigeria have been in final of the competition in two different times, what we are working and focusing on is to surpass what where have been before."
He said he and his coaching crews have been working on the strength, physical and psychology to match what they will be faced with in France in August.
"To this end, we have been working on the mental, psychological and physical strength of the players which is why we played against boys today."
Speaking about the group of 'death' where Falconets are group alongside Haiti, Germany and China.
"We respect every opponent, any team that is grouped in the competition are good and should be respected. However, we are not just going to France to make up the number. We have experience on our side having been in the final two times which of course is added advantage and a morale booster for the entire team."
The Falconets will slug out with the three times champions, Germany in the group first match on 6th August, then lock horns with debutant Haiti on 9th August, while they will be playing the last game against China PR on 13th August 2018.
