The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare has urged the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria to consolidate on their victory in their first match at the World Cup and beat Ecuador's U17 national team in today's second group encounter, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

The five-time world champions will book their Round of 16 ticket if they defeat Ecuador in today's crucial match. Both teams, Nigeria and Ecuador won their first games, so, winning this match means, picking the Second Round ticket.


The Minister while expressing confidence in the team's ability to perform well, said, "I urge the Golden Eaglets to give their heart and soul to the game. It is a crucial encounter with Ecuador no doubt, but Nigerians are confident in their skills and determination.

They must come to the game with a sense of purpose and professionalism and the kind of optimum performance and precision football that saw them overcome the onslaught of the Hungarians".


"The Nigerian can do spirit again comes on display and the brilliance of our youth football is there for the world to see", he added.


Nigeria's Golden Eaglets will on Tuesday take on Ecuador in their second group match of the ongoing Under-17 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The match is will be played at 9:00 pm (Nigerian time)
