Former Nigeria international, Emeka Amadi has expressed confidence in the Nigeria U17 national team ahead of their first group match against Hungary on Saturday, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Emeka Amadi believed that the Nigeria U17 team is good enough to win the title for the sixth time adding that Nigerians should support the team for them to excel in Brazil.

The former Flying Eagles goalkeeper while speaking exclusively with www.bsnsports.com.ng at the FIFA Goal Project inside Moshood Abiola Stadium said the head coach Manu Garba and the assistance Nduka Ugbade are best hands to do the job based on their experience on the job. He added that Nigerians should not panic over their losses in some of their warm up matches while in Brazil.

"Let us forget about their losses before the world cup finals, friendly match results are deceptive. In 2013 and 2015 when we won the world cup, we went to SUWON and came third in the competition and that years we won the world cup.

"I know the two coaches in charge and what they are capable of doing, let's believe in them and give them our support.

He reiterated that Federation of International Football Association, FIFA do not organise the U17 solely for winning purposes but as developmental competition for young footballers around the globe.

"You know we always talk about winning every time, the U17 is not set up by FIFA solely for winning but developmental processes. However, they will grow from stages to stages they progress in the competition and i wish they could win it again this time." He concluded.

Nigeria's U17 national team will slug it out in their first group match with their Hungarian counterparts on Saturday.
