Stand-in Coach of the Nigeria U17 women's national team, Bankole Olowookere has expressed readiness to face and conquer Ghana in their FIFA U17 African women's world cup qualifier encounter, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Olowookere in exclusive interview with BSN Sports said he is psychologically affected by Covid19 but insisted that his team is well prepared for the world cup qualifying match against Ghana.

"I am psychologically affected by covid-19 because we would have had our world cup ticket in our hands." The Lagos based coach told BSN Sports.

"Going forward, in preparation against Ghana in the African Women's U17 qualifier, I monitor the players using the social media to encourage them but as the lockdown persists, I started introducing some aerobic exercise they can do on their own within their home. After a while, because they are young and are still coming up I always send exercise they can do to them online, ask them to do the exercise, record and send it back to me. This is what we have been doing to keep them fit but we can not compare all that to the main training on the pitch." He concluded.

FIFA announced that the women's U17 World Cup, due to be held in India in November, has been postponed for three months. FIFA said on Tuesday May 12, that the tournament to be played in five cities across the country will start February 17, 2021.

CAF has not fixed the date for the African FIFA U17 Women's World Cup qualifier.

Though the two-legged world cup qualifying match between Nigeria and Ghana will hold this year.
