Nigeria's Golden Eaglets are out of the ongoing 2019 U17 FIFA World Cup in Brazil as the five-time world champions lost 1-3 to Netherland in their Round 16 of the championship, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Ajax FC U17 forward, Sontje Hansen's hat trick was all the European country needed to dump Nigeria out of the competition. Hansen scored in the 4th, 15th and 80th (penalty) minutes to complete his hat trick as Nigeria's only goal was scored in the 12th minute by Olakunle Olusegun.

The favorites and group B winners, Nigeria poor defense, less team work and selfishness of players cost the West African the quarter final ticket.

The Manu Garba-led team struggled against Netherland who qualified as best losers in group D winning one and lost two matches before staging a Round of 16 fixture against Nigeria at the Stadio Olimpico in Goiania.

With Cameroon out in the group stage, Angola lost 0-1 to Korea Republic and Nigeria bundled out by Holland in the Round of 16, only Senegal who defeated Netherlands in their group D encounter remain only Africa representative still in the tournament.
