FIFA U17 World Cup: Sunday Dare Congratulates Eaglets On Their 3-2 Win Over Ecuador

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Sunday Dare has congratulated the Nigeria's Golden Eaglets on their 3-2 victory over Ecuador in their second group B match at the ongoing 2019 FIFA U17 World Cup, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Sunday Dare heaped praises on the Nigerian lads deacribed then as fighters, determined and achievers. The minister expressed satisfaction via his official Twitter handle as he poured encomium on Eaglets for picking the Round of 16 ticket.

Ibrahim Said's hat trick was enough to send the Nigeria U17 team into Round of 16. Said's early goal in the 5th minute was cancelled out by Nigeria's goalkeeper, Daniel Jinadu's own goal in the 10th minute.

The first half ended 1-1 before the Ecuadorians increased the tally in the 58th minute when Johan Mina put the American team ahead from the spot.

Said Ibrahim completed his brace in the 85th minute to stage Eaglets' comeback and scored the winning goal in the 89th minute to send Nigeria into the Round of 16.

The five-time world champions will face Australia in their last group match.
