FIFA U20 Women's World Cup Qualifiers: Uganda Pick Home Win As Ethiopia Get Away Victory By BSN Sports Uganda and Ethiopia inched closer to progressing to the fourth round of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022 with 1-0 and 3-1 victories in the first leg of the third-round ties on Friday. In Entebbe, Uganda continued from where they left off in the second round after a 10-3 aggregate win over Kenya, with a clinical home triumph over South Africa’s Basetsana at St. Mary’s Stadium. Hadijah Nandago’s 19th minute solitary effort was all the East Africans required to claim a narrow win at home ahead of their trip for the second leg in South Africa in two weeks’ time. Meanwhile in Francistown, visitors Ethiopia handed themselves a massive advantage of advancing with a 3-1 victory over Botswana at the Oleb Itani Chilume Stadium. Araiet Odong gave the 2021 CECAFA Women’s U-20 Champions the lead in the 34th minute before Turist Lema doubled the advantage two minutes before the half time break.
