By Niyi Busari
Former Super Eagles star, Mutiu Adepoju has thrown his weight behind the Flying Eagles to qualify from the group but refused to state how far the team can go at the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup.
Headmaster as he is fondly called, while speaking with www.bsnsports.com.ng noted that the team needs quality players to be added as well as having quality friendly matches to prepare them for the task in Poland.
Adepoju stated that Paul Aigbogun-led team need to improve on their goal-scoring ability if they must go far in the competition.
In his words; "It is very difficult to say how long they can go in the competition. The team need to prepare very well, play quality friendly games that will improve them in their goal-scoring ability with this, the team will do well at the world cup.
He advised the head coach, Paul Aigbogun to invite better and more quality players to fortify the team ahead of the world cup finals.
"If there are better players that will improve the quality of their game, the coach should invite such players," Adepoju told Basic Sports in Nigeria (BSN Sports).
"I believe they have good players but need to blend together with the those that will be invited, so as to improve on their scoring ability."
Flying Eagles are drawn in Group D of the 2019 FIFA U20 World Cup alongside USA, Qatar, and Ukraine.
The Nigeria's U20 national team finished fourth at the just concluded African U20 nations cup in Niger.
