FIFA Women's World Cup: NFF Writes FG Over Flamingos, Falconets Resumption

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has written to the Federal Government to give the go-ahead for the resumption of the Nigeria I17 Women's National Team, Flamingos and an the U20 Women's National Team, Falconets who have world cup qualifying matches in September, 2020, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
This is contained in the communique of the NFF in a meeting held on Monday via video conference. It reads, "Pertaining to the preparation of the U20 and U17 Women National Teams for upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifying matches, the Board announced that having written to the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development for a special waiver to call the girls to camp, it would await response from the Government before making any moves for the camping programme.
The Presidential Task Force (PTF) on Covid-19 has not announced lifting of suspension on football activities. The suspension which started in March, 2020 when the cases of Coronavirus patients started rising in Nigeria.
The Nigeria U20 Women national team will face Burkina Faso in the first leg of the 2021 FIFA U20 World Cup qualifier in mid-September while the Women U17 team, Flamingos faces Ghana between 31st September and 2nd October, 2020 in the first leg of the second round qualifier for the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup.
Meanwhile, the Ghana's three national teams - Black Starlets (Male U-17), Black Princesses (Female U-20) and Black Maidens (Female U-17) - have been given the greenlight to begin camping since July 28th ahead of their respective international assignments in September 2020
The Black Maidens (U-17) have a World Cup qualifying game against Nigeria whilst the Princesses, prepare to take on Guinea-Bissau in a FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup qualifier.
The FIFA U – 20 Women’s World Cup to be hosted by Costa Rica will now come off from January 20 – February 6, 2021.
FIFA has also announced that the U–17 Women’s World Cup with India as the host is expected to come off from February 17 to March 7, 2021.
