Five-Goal Dortmund Reach German Cup Final

Five-Goal
Five-Goal Dortmund Reach German Cup Final By Admin Relentless Borussia Dortmund were without injured superstar Erling Haaland but have easily overpowered second-tier Holstein Kiel 5-0 to set up a German Cup final date with RB Leipzig on May 13. A double from American teenager Giovanni Reyna and further goals from Marco Reus, Thorgan Hazard and Jude Bellingham effectively settled the semi-final before halftime. Haaland roared his approval from the stand as he sat out with a "slight muscular problem" according to Dortmund. They are likely to have bigger concern over Mateu Morey, with the defender was carried off the field in the second half with what looked like a serious knee injury. Fifth in the Bundesliga, Dortmund host Leipzig next Saturday as they try to salvage a top-four spot and entry to the Champions League. The cup would provide Dortmund's first silverware since they lifted the trophy in 2017. "Until the 75th minute (when Morey was injured), it was the perfect night," said Dortmund coach Edin Terzic. Kiel are fourth in the second division but only two points off the top three with three games in hand. Reyna, 18, was substituted at halftime after his first professional double. The first was a fine shot from the edge of the box and the second a tap-in after good work from Reus. Reus himself bundled in Emre Can's chip in the 26th minute and Hazard made it four by capping off a solo run with a low finish. Bellingham's deflected shot for the fifth goal just before halftime was greeted with more muted celebrations. The cup final in Berlin will be the last game in charge for both coaches. Dortmund's Edin Terzic is handing over to Marco Rose for next season when his interim spell in charge ends, while Leipzig's Julian Nagelsmann is leaving for Bayern. Leipzig are seeking the first major trophy in their short history. Their only previous appearance in a final was a 2-0 defeat to Bayern in 2019.
