Five Nigerian Wrestlers Set To Travel For Poland Open By Uche Dozie Five Nigerian wrestlers are set to travel on Monday, 7 June, 2021, to Poland for a Ranking Series tournament in Warsaw tagged Poland Open ahead of the Tokyo Olympic, BSNSports.com.ng can report. The team list consist Commonwealth champion, Odunayo Adekuoroye, Blessing Oborududu, Aminat Adeniyi as well as youngster Adijat Idris and Ekerekeme Agiomor. Commonwealth Games champion, Adekuoroye (57kg) qualified for Tokyo 2020 Olympics after winning Bronze at the World Senior Wrestling Championship, in Kazakhstan. While Khadijat Idris, 50kg, Aminat Adeniyi 62kg and Blessing Oborududu 69kg clinched their tickets to the 2020 Olympic Games at the Oceania/Africa Olympic Qualifying tournament in Tunis in April. The only male wrestler in the mix, Ekerekeme Agiomor (86kg) iwho is Nigeria’s sole representative in the Freestyle event also qualified for Japan after winning gold at the Oceania/Africa Olympic Qualifying tournament in Tunis in April. The wrestlers will be vying for crucial ranking points to enhance their global rating and the prize monies at stake at the competition which runs from 8 to 13 June in Poland.
