FLYING EAGLES IN GROUP B OF WAFU U-20 QUALIFYING TOURNAMENT ALONGSIDE GHANA, CÔTE D’IVOIRE

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have been drawn alongside Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire in Group B of the WAFU B Zonal qualifiers for the 2021 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Mauritania, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
At a virtual Draw held in Abidjan on Tuesday morning, the Golden Eaglets were placed in Group B alongside their familiar foes. Nigeria, who went on after winning the zonal competition to place fourth at the 2019  U-17 AFCON, were seeded for Tuesday’s live draw. Tournament hosts Benin who were also seeded will face Niger, Burkina Faso and Togo. The tournament which was earlier scheduled for November, will now be staged between  December 5-20, 2020. The Flying Eagles are expected to start preparations for the WAFU B zonal qualification tournament this week in Abuja after the Federal Government lifted restrictions on contact sports late last weekend. The 2021 U-20 AFCON in Mauritania will hold from February to March.
